- Wire
- 1.5 mm² · 16 AWG
- Example fuse
- 7.5 A
- Design current
- 5.2 A
- Voltage drop
- 1.9%
Sized against ABYC E-11. The design current is the part's continuous draw. The length is one way; voltage drop includes an equal-length return.
Run-length and manufacturer assumptions
The editable example uses 3.048 m (10 ft) runs unless a shorter run is stated. Metric overviews round these to 3 m. Adapt the parts and lengths to your installation before choosing cable and protection.
Supporting parts
- 6.1 m total of 1.5 mm² (16 AWG) marine cable
- Terminations for 1.5 mm² cable, matched to the equipment's screw terminals, leads or studs
- 7.5 A fuse and holder on the positive run
- Heat-shrink, strain relief and terminal boots sized to the cable
Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Identify NPA100S-12I and the source edition
The exact NPA100S-12I manufacturer sheet describes a 100 W, 33-cell, 9-busbar monocrystalline panel. It was recovered from the public Solar Panels archive linked by Newpowa's official download page. The document prints no revision date; its PDF metadata dates creation to September 2022, which is not treated as a printed issue identifier.
The electrical table, PDF page 2, confirms 19.23 V Vmp, 5.21 A Imp, 22.12 V Voc and 5.50 A Isc. Those values match the existing catalog operating point. Current Newpowa 100 W products with different suffixes must be checked separately.
Connect the panel through a charge controller
Route the marked positive and negative leads to a compatible solar controller, then connect the controller's protected battery output using its own instructions. A nominal 12 V description does not mean this panel can be connected directly to a battery. Verify controller startup voltage, maximum PV voltage and current, and select the charging profile for the actual battery chemistry.
The rear drawing labels 2.5 mm² output cables, 900 mm long. Match extension connectors to the actual fitted type and manufacturer; the drawing does not establish a universal mating connector certification. Secure the leads without tension at the junction box and protect extensions from roof-edge abrasion.
Calculate cold voltage using the correct units
The sheet gives a Voc temperature coefficient of −(80 ± 10) mV/°C per module. This is an absolute voltage change, not a percentage coefficient. For example, the central coefficient increases a single panel's Voc by 2.0 V when cell temperature falls from 25°C to 0°C, before tolerances and other required margins. Use the design minimum temperature and full coefficient tolerance for actual string sizing.
Series wiring adds module voltages; parallel wiring adds currents. The reviewed sheet does not specify maximum series-fuse or maximum system-voltage ratings. Obtain those from the actual label or Newpowa before building a multi-string array. Crimp's 12 A terminal allowance is a planning value, not either missing rating.
Match the frame and mounting points
The panel measures 980 × 530 × 30 mm and weighs 6.03 kg. Its rear drawing distinguishes four mounting slots from two 5 mm grounding holes. Use mounting hardware designed for this frame and the supporting structure; do not confuse the grounding holes with structural attachment points.
Confirm clamp/bolt torque and grounding hardware from the supplied installation instructions, as this datasheet does not specify them. Preserve drainage and ventilation, cover and isolate the module during assembly, and never separate PV connectors under load. Inspect cable support and attachment after commissioning.
Fit check
Connect it to the rest of your system.
Describe your setup to draft a system with NPA100S-12I connected. Review the selected parts and cable lengths, then edit the diagram in Crimp.
The model only picks parts and draws the connections. Every wire size and fuse rating still comes from Crimp's own sizing, never from the model.
