Cable sizing for this example
Use the diagram as a starting point for your installation. Replace the example equipment and cable lengths with your own, and check the connections against your exact model's instructions.
Cable sizes depend on the connected equipment, current and cable lengths. Add those details in Crimp to size each run.

What is included with the BMV-702?
The BMV-702 has a wired display and a separate 500 A/50 mV shunt. There is no built-in Bluetooth; the optional VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle provides that connection. The supplied 10 m, six-core RJ12 cable links the head unit to the shunt and also powers the head unit. It is not an Ethernet connection.
Where do the battery cables go?
Mount the IP21 shunt in a dry location. Connect bank negative only to its BATTERY ONLY side, and every load and charging return to LOAD AND CHARGER. The supplied shunt uses M10 bolts, maximum 21 N·m. Connect +B1 to battery positive using the supplied red 1 A slow-blow fused lead. The supply range is 6.5–95 V DC; this is not the high-voltage BMV-700H.
The canvas combines head unit and shunt into one symbol. Its BATT − and LOAD − connections belong to the shunt, not the display. The 500 A measurement range does not establish a battery fuse size or make every attached cable suitable for 500 A.
Which extra measurements are supported?
The 702 adds +B2/Aux for one additional measurement: starter-battery voltage, bank midpoint, or temperature with the optional BMV sensor. It does not measure two banks' currents or provide two state-of-charge readings. Set the chosen function before relying on the display, and use the corresponding §3.6 wiring diagram.
What settings make the reading useful?
Enter the real bank capacity and charged-voltage/tail-current parameters, and adjust chemistry-related settings using the battery supplier's data. Do not accept an initial 100% reading as a measured full charge. Verify zero current with loads and chargers off, check discharge direction with a known load, and synchronize after a confirmed full charge.
If voltage reads correctly but current does not, check the return wiring and RJ12 connection before recalibrating. The head unit's alarm relay is a control contact, not a high-current battery disconnect. See the manual's installation, configuration and technical-data chapters for the display mounting dimensions and alarm functions.

Connect it to the rest of your system.
Describe your setup to draft a system with BMV-702 connected. Review the selected parts and cable lengths, then edit the diagram in Crimp.
The model only picks parts and draws the connections. Every wire size and fuse rating still comes from Crimp's own sizing, never from the model.
