Sized against ABYC E-11. The design current is the part's continuous draw. The length is one way; voltage drop includes an equal-length return.
Run-length and manufacturer assumptions
The editable example uses 3.048 m (10 ft) runs unless a shorter run is stated. Metric overviews round these to 3 m. Adapt the parts and lengths to your installation before choosing cable and protection.
Supporting parts
- 6.1 m total of 1.5 mm² (16 AWG) marine cable
- Terminations for 1.5 mm² cable, matched to the equipment's screw terminals, leads or studs
- 10 A fuse and holder on the positive run
- Heat-shrink, strain relief and terminal boots sized to the cable
Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Which Air Top 2000 STC does this represent?
This entry is the 12 V diesel Air Top 2000 STC D. The STC B petrol version and the 24 V diesel version have separate specifications. Check the heater label and installation kit before selecting its supply or controller.
Webasto's installation manual, page 23, mirrored by Butler Technik gives the 12 V diesel model 0.9–2.0 kW heat output, 15–30 W electrical consumption over the control range, and a 10.5–16 V operating supply range. The 2 kW figure describes fuel-derived heat. It is not a 2 kW electrical load. The operating-power range does not establish peak ignition current. Crimp's 12 A startup value remains a planning estimate, not a manufacturer-verified maximum; check the installed heater's requirements before sizing startup wiring.
What does the electrical installation require?
The installation manual, section 8 specifies a 20 A fuse for the 12 V version, with the fuse holder inside the vehicle. Its 15 A figure applies to the 24 V version. Select the wiring diagram that matches the fitted controller; MultiControl, rotary controls and UniControl do not share an interchangeable control wiring layout.
Use the heater harness and its sealed cable entry, insulate unused wire ends, and size extensions using the manual's length-dependent conductor requirements. X6 pins 1 and 2 are the positive and negative supply connections; this is identification for the correct harness, not a reason to improvise a connector. The separate controller and fuel-pump connections also need to be fitted according to their instructions.
Why must power remain on after shutdown?
Turn the heater off with its control. Webasto's operating instructions, pages 4–5 require the fan's after-run to finish before disconnecting power. Installation section 8.2 allows approximately 240 seconds before supply disconnection. A battery isolator or automated load-shedding relay must therefore allow the heater to complete shutdown rather than immediately cutting its feed.
What else matters before first use?
Fuel, combustion air and exhaust installation are part of the heater system. Keep intake and exhaust paths clear and prevent exhaust from entering the heated space. Webasto assigns installation and repair to trained personnel. Its operating instructions also require switching the heater off before refuelling. Follow the control-specific startup instructions supplied with the kit and investigate repeated fault shutdowns rather than continually restarting it.
