Maxxfan Deluxe 7500K
Maxxair Maxxfan Deluxe 7500K wiring diagram
Wire the Maxxfan Deluxe 7500K to a protected 12 V distribution branch. Check the tagged positive lead and use your actual roof-to-panel distance to plan its cable.
- Compatible systems
- 12 V
- Supply design allowance
- 5 A
Connection essentials
Read the (+) tag
The tagged black lead is positive. Disconnect vehicle power before making the connection.
Use a protected branch
One DC pair supplies fan and lid. The 5 A supply requirement does not specify the external branch fuse.
Measure the roof route
Enter the one-way panel-to-fan distance; the cable calculation includes the return conductor.

Fan supply sizing for this example
The example uses the manual's minimum supply requirement as a planning allowance. The displayed fuse is a preliminary cable-protection result; the manual does not specify an external branch-fuse rating.
3 m one way
12 V system
- Wire
- 2.5 mm² · 13 AWG
- Example fuse
- 7.5 A
- Design current
- 5 A
- Voltage drop
- 1.8%
Sized against ABYC E-11. The design current is a supply allowance based on the manual's minimum service requirement, not a measured operating draw or startup surge. The length is one way; voltage drop includes an equal-length return.
Run-length and manufacturer assumptions
The editable example uses 3.048 m (10 ft) runs unless a shorter run is stated. Metric overviews round these to 3 m. Adapt the parts and lengths to your installation before choosing cable and protection.
Supporting parts
- 6.1 m total of 2.5 mm² (13 AWG) marine cable
- Terminations for 2.5 mm² cable, matched to the equipment's screw terminals, leads or studs
- 7.5 A fuse and holder on the positive run
- Heat-shrink, strain relief and terminal boots sized to the cable
Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Which wire is positive on the Maxxfan Deluxe 7500K?
The black lead tagged (+) is positive. Follow the tag; black insulation alone does not identify a negative wire. Disconnect vehicle power before connecting the two fan leads with the supplied insulated connectors. See Airxcel's installation step 3.
This page covers the Deluxe 7500K with powered lid and remote control. Dome, Mini, Compact and international KI variants need their own instructions.
How does the fan connect to a fused distribution panel?
One DC pair powers both the fan and lid. The example shows this path:
- Positive: house bank → protected distribution feed → fused branch → fan (+).
- Return: fan (−) → distribution negative → house-bank negative.
Replace the placeholder house bank and distribution with your actual equipment. Include the upstream panel feed when reviewing voltage drop. The complete campervan examples place this fan alongside charging and other loads.
What wire size does the Maxxfan need?
Use your roof-to-panel route, not a universal cable size. The manual requires at least a 5 A, 12 V supply and stranded wire. Crimp uses 5 A as a supply design allowance; it is not measured high-speed draw or startup surge.
The example fan branch is 3.048 m / 10 ft one way, rounded to 3 m in the metric overview. Its voltage-drop calculation includes both conductors. Enter the one-way route in Crimp or the wire size calculator; do not double it. Allow for all fan settings when planning supply capacity.
Does the manual require a 5 A branch fuse?
No: 5 A is the minimum supply capability. Airxcel describes an onboard self-resetting fuse but does not specify an external branch-fuse rating in this guide. The displayed fuse is a preliminary cable-protection example. Confirm fuse behavior, holder and cable for your unit; its current rating alone does not establish startup performance.
The onboard device does not protect the upstream cable. Plan a protected distribution branch. For a lithium bank, the fuse checker also checks fault-interruption evidence; the methodology explains the calculation's limits.

Describe your setup to draft a system with Maxxfan Deluxe 7500K connected. Review the selected parts and cable lengths, then edit the diagram in Crimp.
The model only picks parts and draws the connections. Every wire size and fuse rating still comes from Crimp's own sizing, never from the model.
