Mabru Sea Air 5000 wiring diagram

12 V marine air conditioner. Verify the SC5DC model plate: its current sheet specifies 17–27.9 A cooling, 20–33.8 A heating and the manual calls for 50 A protection. Catalog operating and surge currents are planning estimates; pump wiring and drain-pan bonding are separate.

Cable sizing for this example

Use the diagram as a starting point for your installation. Replace the example equipment and cable lengths with your own, and check the connections against your exact model's instructions.

Sized against ABYC E-11. The design current is the part's continuous draw. The length is one way; voltage drop includes an equal-length return.

Run-length and manufacturer assumptions

The editable example uses 3.048 m (10 ft) runs unless a shorter run is stated. Metric overviews round these to 3 m. Adapt the parts and lengths to your installation before choosing cable and protection.

Supporting parts

  1. 6.1 m total of 10 mm² (8 AWG) marine cable
  2. Terminations for 10 mm² cable, matched to the equipment's screw terminals, leads or studs
  3. 35 A fuse and holder on the positive run
  4. Heat-shrink, strain relief and terminal boots sized to the cable

Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Confirm the SC model

The catalog's Sea Air 5000 name lacks a manufacturer SC model number or production revision. The closest documented marine unit is SC5DC, a 5,000 BTU/h, 12 V DC self-contained air conditioner. Confirm that designation on the installed label before applying these instructions. The official specification sheet gives 17–27.9 A cooling and 20–33.8 A heating draw for SC5DC. These are operating ranges, not a verified compressor-start surge; the catalog's 28 A load and 45 A surge remain planning assumptions.

Power, controls and protection

The drawing's `+` and `−` represent the full-current DC supply and return. On the manufacturer board diagram, use the terminals marked DC 12V POWER; the separate PUMP output, display, sensor and compressor-control connectors have different functions. Do not connect the supply to a control or pump terminal. The installation manual specifies a dedicated 50 A protective device for SC5DC, with a separate 5 A ATC fuse shown on the DC pump branch. Select the feed cable for installation ampacity and no more than 3% voltage drop, calculated using the complete out-and-back length. Use the required crimped fork/ring terminals in the electrical box.

Grounding and seawater installation

The drain pan's green grounding screw needs the manufacturer's ship-ground/bonding connection; the two DC ports do not depict it. Keep the control box in return airflow for cooling. The current SC5DC sheet calls for at least a 4-inch duct, 64 square inches of return grille and 16 square inches of supply grille. Its seawater hose connection is 5/8 inch inside diameter. The included 350 GPH DC pump is not self-priming: install the intake, seacock, strainer and pump with the manual's below-waterline arrangement and confirm continuous overboard flow before running.

Commissioning and drawing limits

Use the display to select cooling, heating or fan operation, then check airflow, drain flow and the seawater discharge. The diagnostic guide identifies 11.5–14.2 V as the operating range relevant to a DC voltage fault; verify the fitted controller's limits against actual charging voltage. The model does not simulate the pump branch, bonding, controls, refrigerant circuit, condensate drainage or thermal performance. Marine SC instructions cannot be replaced with the similarly named RV rooftop manual. Installation in an engine room is prohibited, and these units are not ignition-protected.
