PHILIPPI STV 108 Switch Panel wiring diagram

PHILIPPI STV 108: eight switched 12/24 V circuits with E-T-A 1140 thermal resettable breakers, normally 8 A each (4/6/10/12/16 A options). W 110 × H 145 mm. The sum of breaker ratings is not a verified panel-feed rating; protect the supplied 6 mm² feed separately.

Cable sizing for this example

Use the diagram as a starting point for your installation. Replace the example equipment and cable lengths with your own, and check the connections against your exact model's instructions.

Cable sizes depend on the connected equipment, current and cable lengths. Add those details in Crimp to size each run.

Installation notes

Verified against the manufacturer's documentation (rev. STV100 V1-DGB; series-100 catalog sheet 26), checked 2026-10-01. Manufacturer documentation →

Which STV 108 arrangement is covered?

The STV 108 has eight switched circuits with resettable E-T-A 1140 thermal breakers. Standard breakers are 8 A, with 4/6/10/12/16 A variants available. Check the fitted breaker markings before using a different branch limit. It is a 12/24 V panel; the manual specifies a 10–28 V operating range.

Its eight 8 A breakers do not establish a verified 64 A feed rating. The previous catalog total was arithmetic, not a manufacturer panel specification, and has been removed. The downloaded series manual and current STV108/catalog information establish the model and connection method but do not publish an independent overall panel-current rating.

How are the supply and branch wires connected?

The manual specifies prewired red 6 mm² positive supply lead(s). Do not reduce conductor size when extending them, and protect the battery supply with a fuse selected for the actual cable. The branch breakers do not protect the supply before the panel. The manual's conductor table associates 6 mm² with 29 A under its stated guidance; that table is not a universal cable rating or permission to draw 64 A through one supplied lead. Crimp uses 29 A as a conservative ceiling for that supplied-feed path, not as an independently certified panel rating.

Load positives connect to the breaker's output spade contacts. The black negative lead supplies the indicator LEDs; it is not a return bus for all eight loads. Route load negatives to the system negative bus. The canvas abstracts the positive feed and outputs and omits that separate indicator connection.

What space is needed behind the panel?

The STV108 face is 110 × 145 mm. Although product depth is listed as 70 mm, the installation manual asks for at least 150 mm rear space to arrange and access wiring. Use the actual panel and mounting drawing for the cut-out, leaving rear access for maintenance. The connection system uses 6.3 mm spade terminals matched to the conductor and equipment.

How is a tripped circuit restored?

Switch off and investigate the overloaded or shorted branch, then reset only after the fault is removed. The panel breaker protects the branch wiring; equipment may still require its own fuse. Verify LED operation, branch labels and actual simultaneous demand during commissioning, and obtain a confirmed feed arrangement from Philippi when planning high aggregate loads.
